Pre-Engineered Steel Buildings use a combination of built-up sections, hot rolled sections, cold-formed elements and profiled steel sheets which provide the basic steel framework with a choice of single skin sheeting with added insulation or insulated sandwich panels for roofing and wall cladding or brick wall. The concept is designed to provide a complete building envelope system which is airtight, energy-efficient, optimum in weight and cost and, above all, designed to fit user requirement like a well-fitted glove.
Pre-engineered buildings are the state of the art steel solution to developing an efficient and cost-effective infrastructure. Pre-engineered building is a steel structure built over a structural concept of the primary member, Secondary member and the cover sheeting connected to each other. PEB’s can be fitted with different structural additions like trusses, mezzanine floors, fascias, canopies and crane systems as per user requirements.
These Pre-Engineered Steel Buildings can be fitted with different structural accessories including mezzanine floors, canopies, fascias, interior partitions etc. The building is made water-tight by use of special mastic beads, filler strips and trims. This is a very versatile building system and can be finished internally to serve any required function and accessorized externally to achieve attractive and distinctive architectural styles. The most common and economical type of low-rise building is a building with ground floor and two intermediate floors plus roof. The roof of a low rise building may be flat or sloped. Intermediate floors of low rise buildings are made of mezzanine systems. Single storied houses for a living take minimum time for construction and can be built in any type of geographic location like extreme cold hilly areas, high rain prone areas, plain land, extreme hot climatic zones etc.
Prefabricated building materials are used for buildings that are manufactured off-site and shipped later to assemble at the final location. Prefabricated metal buildings use galvanized steel and galvalume as the chief materials for building. Galvalume is a form of steel coated with aluminium-zinc. This is to protect the building against corrosion, rust and fire. It also provides a sturdy and protective covering to the prefabricated building. Almost all the components of a metal building such as beams, frames, columns, walls and roofs, are made of steel. Most prefabricated military buildings use steel or aluminium frames. These materials are cheaper than regular brick and concrete buildings.
