Gantry / Goliath Cranes

Gantry / Goliath cranes are suited for applications where overhead runways will be very long, expensive as well as difficult to maintain in alignment.At the same time it is comparatively easy and inexpensive to increase the length of the runway and thus increase the working area of ??the crane. Most gantry crane installations are outdoor.
The initial cost of a gantry crane, which can be twice that of an overhead crane, should equal the additional cost of the overhead runway.

Goliath / gantry cranes are self-propelled cranes operating on ground level rails.

Workshops where existing columns cannot bear the wheel load of single or double girder bridged cranes
Workshops that can limit the lift height of a regular bridge crane
Places where the length of the bay is excessive
Places where the length of the bay is not constant
Sites / Projects where the crane needs to be moved from one place to another
Places where the load is to be moved from points outside the crane, as in the case of an overhang on either side of the rail.
