Prefabricated Steel Buildings

These modules are shaped structures that are folded together, like a puzzle to create a fully usable structure. A module may either constitute half a room and must be joined with the other half of it or may be an entire room and shall be connected to other rooms to form a building or house. This is not the same for prefab structures.

In prefab steel buildings, the plan is made by creating an accurate reading of the site and a design for building the building. The design of the building is then broken down into parts, and the building's skeletal structure is designed separately for the construction of steel spares and the beams being used for development. All construction parts and structured steel parts are manufactured inside the factory. Small parts from the module are transported to the construction site. The pieces are then assembled on site with several small steel beams and angles that form a large structure.

The use of steel structures in a building is not only economical, but also environmentally friendly when there is a risk of global warming. Time is the most important aspect when it comes to prefabricated buildings, as it is built in a very short period of time. In pre-engineered buildings, the total design is done in the factory, and by design the members are prefabricated and transported to the site where they are erected in less than 6 to 8 weeks. Steel structures have a better strength-to-weight ratio than RCC which can also be easily destroyed. The pre-engineered building can be moved or expanded as per future requirements.

Below are several advantages of structural steel buildings that are the process and components used in prefabricated buildings:

Primary assessment

These are structural elements that transfer the load to the foundation and include end wall frames. These frames are supplemented by anchor bolts, wind bracing if necessary.

Secondary assessment

Secondary framing consists of roof purlins, wall girts, eave struts and clips, etc., which support roof and wall sheeting and help with the weighting of the primary framing.

Design software

The latest software used for design is STAAD Pro, STEEL Pro, Auto cad etc.

PEB analysis and design

Currently, Staad Pro software is used for the analysis and design of pre-engineered building structures. It gives Bending Moment, Axial Forces, Torsion, Beam Stresses, so that it can be designed using taped sections.

Applications of Prefabricated buildings:

  1. Industrial building
  2. Warehouses
  3. Commercial complexes
  4. The showroom
  5. Offices
  6. Indoor stadium
  7. Parking lots and lots….

Advantages prefabricated metal fabrication?

Prefabricated steel buildings are ideal structures for any contractor or builder who needs a flexible, low-cost building solution. Steel buildings are customizable and versatile, cost-effective, highly durable, environmentally friendly and almost completely maintenance-free. Prefabricated metal buildings also significantly reduce construction time so that you can reach your building early, and they extend your convenience.

1. Customization

Sometimes all you need is a cookie-cutter building. Maybe you just need a straight warehouse with no bells and whistles. However, at other times, you should be in complete control of your building design. You can customize your prefabricated metal building to make it more reliable and to add functionality and aesthetic features. No matter why you are appearing in a prefabricated metal building, it can be designed according to its intended use.

There will always be design ideas that will make your pre-engineered metal building more functional and efficient. You can incorporate any of these as you design your metal building. And choosing the right mix of prefabricated metal fabrication components is as important as the size and shape of your structure. No matter how you envision your new building, customizability is the difference between being your complete structure and settling for less.

Below are some industries where prefabricated metal buildings would be perfect:

Auto shops: Prefab metal building can help you get the right combination of bay size and spacing.

Church: Designing a church and accounting for a stage, chairs, pews, and a fellowship area is more of an art than a science. Prefab steel buildings use every square foot of space efficiently.

Garage: No matter what you are using for your garage, your requirements are considered when designing your metal garage.

Warehouse: A column-free warehouse ensures that every available part of the rent or storage space is available.

2. Durability

How many times have you seen a steel building crumbling after high winds or a big storm?

The pictures we see after storms are traditional wooden structures completely devoid of elements. Pre-engineered metal buildings can withstand the strongest storms over and over again, unlike traditional construction. And if something goes wrong, it is most likely that your warranty is covered. Many steel buildings come with warranties such as 50-year structural, 40-year paint and a 25-year roof warranty. And, prefabricated steel buildings are non-combustible, so you don't have to worry about being destroyed by fire.

3. Eco-friendly and accessible

An important advantage is that steel is 100% recycled and is the most recycled material on the planet. Metal buildings can help the environment and generate less waste than traditional building materials. Most of the steel used in construction today is recycled from other uses. In today's world, there is a lot of emphasis on being green, making steel an ideal building material. Steel does not emit toxic fumes during production or construction or in the event of a fire or other disaster. It is also very easy to build your steel and insulate tight fittings around doors and windows, reducing energy costs.

4. Low maintenance

No matter what exterior materials you choose, whether it be steel panels, brick, stone, assemblages, or a combination of them, the exterior of your metal building will require very little maintenance. There will be no need to paint every few years as you will see the exterior of the wood. The termite industry alone is worth 5 billion annually, something you would not contribute with a metal fabrication. Steel is resistant to termites and rodents, so you can use that money for other things. Since steel is not part of the termite diet, there is no need to worry about spending thousands of dollars every year to keep them away.

Your steel building gets erected quickly on the construction site, and it lasts for decades of that type of maintenance-free service. It is no better than this.

Where are prefabricated steel buildings used?

The main purpose of prefabricated steel buildings is that they provide reliable and inexpensive method of construction to the customers. These are made in factories and then assembled on site. PEB structures are a cost-effective alternative to traditional buildings. Some popular applications of PEB structures are in most countries of the world, a large percentage of construction work is still non-traditional. One can therefore see PEB structures in various commercial and industrial units.

Factories- Many factories have basic needs including various safety measures, durability and effective use of space. Therefore, metal structures have proved to be quite strong and effective as factory structures.

Warehouse and Distribution Centers- This is completely true for warehouses, storage space and logistics centers. A simple steel structural framework with roofing and cladding matches their needs.

Metro station - PEB structures are also used in the construction of metro stations.

Factory Shed- Since PEB structures are made of steel, it is resistant to fire and hazardous chemicals. Therefore, they are used to make factory sheds.

Aviation Industry - Steel buildings are especially preferred in the aviation industry because steel is more resistant to vibration.
